The problem with spam is that it is so easy to send a lot of it, and you only need a few fools to buy your stuff to make a buck. For less than $10 you can spam 40 million email addresses. But the fact of the matter is that as we get smarter about filtering spam, spammers get better at reaching more of us, for less money.

Scenario: Spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, bacon and spam. Perhaps it's something else, but regardless the cause, some ingenious script-kiddy has turned the tables and suddenly you're responsible for thousands upon thousands of spam messages. The names have been changed to protect the paranoid.

As long as there have been websites, there have been tools in place to keep those sites safe from spam and hacker abuse. Another problem with the last generation CAPTCHA feature is, in a word, annoyance. It would seem that the traditional CAPTCHA feature, therefore, is no longer a dependable test.
