We were asked to listen to a PPT presentation that shared the history, mission, goals, challenges and opportunities. But, there was a twist – we were asked to do critical or active listening. Here’s a high level overview of some of the methods the small group of 12 participants used. Technique #1: Rose, Bud, Thorn (Understanding).

The Craigslist Foundation's annual Nonprofit Bootcamp was a fantastc one-day conference, chalk full of workshops on topics ranging from marketing advice (PPT 10.1MB) to advanced ideas about the future of technology (PPT 1.7MB) for nonprofits, which featured our very own co-CEO, Marnie Webb.

They are nowhere near as fully fucntioning as the counterparts, but these apps get the job done, and allow you to send.doc,ppt, and.xls versions to your colleagues. These are your PowerPoint, Word, and Excel-like apps. Those are the essentials. But if you also want a little fun, I highly recommend Words with Friends.
