SlideShare is a social networking site that lets you share Powerpoint presentations. My wildest dream would be for many nonprofits to upload and share powerpoint presentation (and screencasts) and we could remix each other's work - it would save us time and help build knowledge. I've been using now for six months and I'm an addict.

It is far less work to slap together a powerpoint presentation and prepare the content. It’s more fun to teach this way and more fun to learn this. This is important for both online and offline instructional delivery. Once the students have discussed the question for a few minutes, Mazur instructs them to answer the question.

The reflection question was about how the challenge of transfer - how will you take the skills you've learned today in powerpoint or photoshop or whatever the hell I was teaching and integrate them into your life. After we each section, I encouraged them to reflect on experience and share via post it notes.

Heather designs Microsoft PowerPoint -based games, like the Jeopardy inspired one she did that prepares kids for OHLAP , which is a scholarship program for Oklahoma students to attend Oklahoma colleges and universities. The kids have a great time playing the games and learn about how to apply for college scholarships.

My style of teaching is participatory; I don’t lecture with PPT endlessly and involve the audience. I also had to take a little bit more care in delivering parts of my presentation that relied on being able to see the visual images in the powerpoint by describing them. I made this part of the instructions.
