Leviathan V2 sound system, following up its previous iteration that launched back in 2014. But, of course, the wired subwoofer is there to further amp up the booming low-frequency sounds. I enjoyed using it enough to leave the setting switched on, but some music sounded better to me with the setting off.

It needs an engaging screen with enough resolution so you won’t see individual pixels at a comfortable distance, speakers that aren’t muffled or crackly sounding, and battery life that will let you get through a few movies between charges since you likely won’t be plugging this thing in after every time you use it.

Apple's augmented reality glasses may be dead (or at least on hold), but it sounds like the company is still working on a different kind of smart glasses. At any rate, it'll probably be at least a couple of years before we see the fruits of all this labor, if we see it at all.

And aside from a few tweaks Sony made to how it upscales music, the 1000XM4s sound just like their predecessors — a very good thing, trust me. This also lets you find your misplaced headphones by playing a sound through them, and you’ll get low-battery notifications when that 30-hour runtime is nearly exhausted. Look familiar?

Computer vision could be a lot faster and better if we skip the concept of still frames and instead directly analyze the data stream from a camera. Sounds simple enough. As humans who are used to seeing photography and video, that might seem reasonable.

The USB-C passthrough port on the controller unfortunately doesn’t support audio, and the clever vent built to let sound from your phone’s bottom-firing speakers is only useful if your phone has speakers located there.
