Only two United Nations member states have not ratified it: Somalia and the United States. have long argued that it could open the door to outside interference from government and U.N. Did you just say, "What?" Yeah, me too. I'm not entirely sure why the U.S. hasn't ratified the Convention. It seems like a no-brainer.

Deminers are trying to do more demining with less money, and that creates the opening to develop tools that help them do that. Other commentators have talked about the distortions of foreign aid on countries.
