It’s been a few days since I returned from the Nonprofit Technology Conference (#12NTC) hosted by NTEN in San Francisco, CA. Holly and the rest of the NTEN team (including all the volunteers) did an incredible job inspiring of over 1800 people for three days. 4) Strategy, Not Tools (Duh!). Check out the slides here.

Nonprofit tech experts team up to help others master ‘social tools for social change’. Eight leading experts in social media and nonprofit technology have joined forces to create Socialbrite.org, a hub that showcases social tools for social change. The Socialbrite site features dozens of videos, screencasts and slide presentations.

Technology can be a huge barrier for inclusion if we don’t consider the digital divide of skills, tools, and Internet speeds when selecting platforms and tools for meetings. The smoothest way to collect feedback is via collaborative cloud-based documents such as Google Docs or Slides, Slack, or other collaboration platforms.
Last year at this time, I was writing the chapter on ROI in the soon to be published book from NTEN called " Managing Your Mission." Helps us move away from tool driven decisions to results. But ROI was not really intended to measure a technology project, program, or tool or any other isolated aspect of an organization.

I did a session on social media using the slide deck we created for our We Are Media trainings. " That's when it hit me: What we don't have in that deck yet is a patience pants slide. . Lots of people have access to these tools. He has the finest pants collection of any NTEN member I know. All was going well.
I also wrote a software choice worksheet , that can help with the process of looking at a wide variety of tools. After the webinar, I’ll be putting the slides up in varied places, and NTEN will have a recording of the webinar. { One of the fascinating things to me is how quickly the CRM space is evolving.

To learn more about how you can use email marketing to support year-round online fundraising, Ive uploaded my slides to Slideshare. While my workshop on Day 1 focused a lot on internal processes and best practices, the next question that we anticipated from attendees was, "What tools can I use to help create this compelling content?"
