It was almost five years ago to the day, that I did a webinar for NTEN on the topic and have been integrating social media into teaching and learning experiences ever since. I also always review Bloom's Taxonomy and have found this diagram really useful.
Consider having a coaching system - perhaps some quick videos or screencasts that show how to participate, or perhaps a live webinar where people are asked to participate in a “sandbox” space and ask questions about the tool(s). Hard to use. Some tools are going to be daunting to some members of your community no matter what you choose.
