After over a decade of convening our signature annual Nonprofit Technology Conference, we are excited to unveil and invite you to our inaugural Leading Change Summit in SanFrancisco on September 3-6. We hope to see you in SanFrancisco this September! We will announce the line up of keynote speakers in late May.
For several years, NTEN has led the field in calling for nonprofits to minimize time sent on mundane tasks like server maintenance, instead focusing resources on technology that will actually serve their missions. Last week, Holly Ross, NTEN’s Executive Director, posted a video appeal for her attempt to raise $10,000 for scholarships to the upcoming Nonprofit Technology Conference. Twice in the past week I’ve come across online fundraising campaigns in which the fundraiser promises to do something embarrassing when the goal is met.

The last time I saw him was in 2009 in SanFrancisco at the NTC. I just learned that Rob passed away , leaving behind a wife and two daughters. Rob Stuart shared my birthday, Jan. But we also shared more than that – the nonprofit technology field. Rob was the godfather. Rob, you will be missed.

I have not been blogging because I've been at the NTEN NTC Conference , the premier event for nonprofit techies taking place in SanFrancisco. NTEN had also set up a google application that lets people vote on questions which how they decided to handle the Q/A in a room of 1400 people.
I owe most of that confidence to my association with NTEN over the years. You can get a lot out of NTEN without attending their annual conference, the NTC. Last year, I received a Convio/NTEN scholarship to attend NTC in SanFrancisco. But the NTC is different. It's really like no other conference.

There are only 3 conferences I make a point of going to each year if I can: Convio Summit , Salesforce Dreamforce and NTEN NTC. At least next year, Convio Summit will be in Baltimore in October, while Dreamforce will be in December in SanFrancisco. Welcome to SanFrancisco.
I was disappointed when it was announced that the NTEN NTC would be in SanFrancisco this year. And then my friends at Convio got together with the good folks at NTEN and did something wonderful. The NTC is the nonprofit technology conference. I loved it last year in New Orleans. I though the NTC would be out of my reach.
Months ago, NTEN afforded me the space here to sing the Drupal community’s praises and I haven’t stopped since. More recently, I flew down to SanFrancisco to take part in the Nonprofit Summit at BADCamp that I’d co-coordinated, where I got to hear from the Bay Area folks about Drupal and nonprofits in their neck of the woods.
Rob Stuart Yesterday, Rob Stuart, one of the founding individuals of the NTEN community, passed away. Many of you won't ever have had the pleasure of meeting Rob, but when NTEN was founded, over a decade ago, Rob Stuart was at the table, shaping the vision of what NTEN could become. That's certainly what I learned from Rob.
