We previously posted your tips for navigating the NTC itself, but a fun part of the conference is also exploring the Minneapolis area. Once again, the NTEN community was full of recommendations for great places to check out on your NTC trip. And no NTC would be complete without the annual #ntcbeer NTC Beerfest.

And, as you may know, every year, NTEN tries to raise $10,000 to send staffers from small nonprofits to the conference who otherwise couldn’t afford to attend. Every dollar is matched by Convio, allowing NTEN to send up to 57 people this year! Here’s how you can participate: Create an account at our auction site.
He and I have had terrific idea swaps and brainstorms and I can only imagine the conversations he will spark in person at NTEN’s Nonprofit Technology Conference. The State of Nonprofit Data report was released this week (hat tip to Ted Fickes ). Idealware and NTEN prepared the report based on a survey in April 2012 with nearly 400 nonprofit organizations about how they manage and use data. The report found that nonprofits are either doing a lot with their metrics or not much at all.
In the last month, NTEN staff have rested and recuperated (Jessica even traveled to China!), and debriefed a whole lot of the NTC. We also read through all of the NTC evaluations! Despite the tough economic times, it seems the community is really excited about the 2009 NTC. I'm proud of the team here at NTEN for putting together an event that is so valued by the community. Airfare can be one of the pricer parts of getting to the NTC. I think that's a shame, and I know that you do too.
Rather than list off the top things you can do to raise money and spread your money right now, we decided to instead put our money where our mouth is - quite literally - and make a concerted effort to help the entire nptech community by raising money online for scholarships to none other than the 2009 NTC Conference in San Francisco.

I have some of my best ideas while washing dishes, and I find some of the best sites while on the train. Evernote lets me organize files, web sites, pictures, audio, and notes, from any device. If I see conference signage I want Anna to use at the next NTC, I snap a picture and save it in my NTC notebook.
At NTC, I organized a panel and drop-in clinic called 'NTC Video GeekOut" featuring Jonny Goldstein and Andy Carvin. For the past five years, I've coordinated the NTEN/NTC Day of Service and before that participated as a volunteer. Volunteers had the option to do a strategy consult and stay at the hotel or leave the building and go on-site. My favorite is the annual NTEN Day of Service for the NTC which I've been doing for the past ten years! Mozilla Service Week starts on Monday, September 14! This includes Aspiration, The Extraordinaries, NTEN, PopTech, and many others. You can even add a good deed widget for your site.

Last year, NTEN Community Champions helped to raise over $36,000 to help support the NTEN Community Challenge , which helped to enhance NTEN''s program accessibility, including sending over 50 people to the 2014 Nonprofit Technology Conference (14NTC) and the 2014 Leading Change Summit (14LCS) with scholarships.
