It’s been a few days since I returned from the Nonprofit Technology Conference (#12NTC) hosted by NTEN in San Francisco, CA. Holly and the rest of the NTEN team (including all the volunteers) did an incredible job inspiring of over 1800 people for three days. The conference was amazing! Check out the slides here.
Tomorrow morning, I’ll be leaving on a jet plane, to Atlanta, Georgia, for the 2010 Nonprofit Technology Conference. This will be my 7th NTC since 2001 (or, more accurately, my 5th. Tags: Nonprofit Tech 10ntc nptech nten. I went to two Circuit Rider Roundups.). I’m looking forward to it.
In 2005, I naively accepted an offer to run operations for a new nonprofit. I was always comfortable in technology, I was comfortable working with nonprofits. . —– The first week of April was like an annual family reunion for the nonprofit technology community as the 2012 Nonprofit Technology Conference (NTC) converged on San Francisco. At this year’s NTC, the role of “the picture” emerged as a force to reckon with. Do you see a lot of text?
Last year, NTEN created a scholarship fund program to help support many more people attend the Nonprofit Technology Conference. Donations were matched by Convio and with over $10,000 raised by the community, we had fun at the largest-attended NTC yet! And what’ll happen to the NTEN staff if we hit $10K?

The State of Nonprofit Data report was released this week (hat tip to Ted Fickes ). Idealware and NTEN prepared the report based on a survey in April 2012 with nearly 400 nonprofit organizations about how they manage and use data.
Here at NTEN, we were shocked and saddened to hear the news that last week our colleague, Michael DeLong, passed away very suddenly. Michael was an active member of the NTEN community, NTC speaker, colleague, friend, and an all-around great person to know. He was our social media manager.

In that window of opportunity, I snagged an invite from NTEN’s Amy Sample Ward and have spent the last day playing around with it in between other projects. Those side connections are not technically part of NTC, but for me it’s an essential part of the conference. That’s what I want Google+ for.
