Marc Andreessen, who is, of late, connected to Ning, has a great blog entry with details. Google has a number of partners, including social network sites like LinkedIn, Friendster and Ning, as well as Salesforce, which does have very interesting implications given the increasing use of Salesforce in the nonprofit sector. Kind of like if Ning , Google Talk , Gmail , Twitter and Facebook got smooshed together into a single open source environment. Google is focusing on the developer community first in this “proof of concept&# project. The more gizmos and gadgets available for this thing the better, right?
