IWith.org - A Spanish Tech Social Enterprise I have just gotten back from a great family vacation (may post a picture or two) where we ended the trip up in Spain for five days. They have a large array of IT projects focused on the Spanish speaking NGO world. Jordi's background is similar to mine (but he's much younger!)

The other 7% comes predominately from the US (where most Mexicans have relatives and connections), then from Spain, and the rest from throughout Latin america. Fundar is a 20-year old Mexican NGO in the filed of research and advocacy to fight corruption, impunity, and to adovcate for human rights. Donadora donors are 93% from Mexico.

Current growth is occurring in parts of the world where “NGO” and “ONG” are commonly used terms and in regions where “nonprofit” and “charity” are more common, many nonprofits and charities are purchasing the domains (they are sold as a bundle) and having them forward to their.ORG website(s).

According to my colleague Rik Riel, this campaign is sponsored by the Spanish NGO Mensajeros de la Paz , which is leveraging various new media to draw attention to their work. A Spain-based non-profit, their main goal is to create shelters and foster homes for poor children and elderly people.

I lived at the Galapagos islands for 2 years and last year a friend who runs an important NGO in the islands wrote me thanking me because through Idealist he managed to find 2 volunteers from Spain to work on a project about organic agriculture.
