I originally posted on the NetSquared blog. Third Sector New England’s Video FAQ. Thanks to the work of Denise Moorehead of Third Sector New England , the distinguished videographer Steve Garfield , and Deborah Elizabeth Finn , a growing number of videos are collected on TSNE’s Strategic Communications Blog.
I'm thinking about the use of video or vlog posts coupled with fundraising widgets as well as some other possible ways (ad revenue from web videos?) I did a campaign video. Coupling a video with group fundraising on the web has been evolving in the last two or three months. I don't know what I mean yet.
Shortly before the Blogher July 2005 conference, I got a new digital camera that came with a video feature. At the conference, I attended a session on video blogging with Ryanne Hodson and was inspired to go play in a vlog sandbox. I was also curious to see whether there were nonprofits using vlogs to promote their causes.
View the vlog post about it here. I'll still continue to blog here during the next two weeks, but will point you over to daily guest posts on Netsquared. Video Blogging Learning Journal. At blogher, I attended a workshop on video blogging lead by Ryanne Hodson and Zadi Diaz. Notes on shooting yourself. Any advice?
original video content for the Internet and portable media devices. I almost spilled my latte all over my keyboard when I read in Britt Bravo's post over at Netsquared that I was nominated for a Vloggie along with NetsquaredVlog and Alive in Baghdad and Sustainable Route. I'm in the instructional/educational category.
I wrote a blurb on Netsquared about the HumaniNet's Sim Day event. Luckily Seth Mazow from Interplast , who attended the event, not only posted a recap but also captured a few words on video from Gregg Swanson, Humaninet's ED. Keep an eye on their blog for more information.
YouTube is one of several video hosts that I'm experimenting posting my videos on these days so I can compare them at some point. (I I wrote about some of the other services over at Netsquared and my own blog here and my vlog sandbox ). Get your own youTube badge.
I was up too late editing a screencast to do a content analysis yesterday, instead I found a great thread on Nonprofits and Vlogging over at Social Edge facilitated by Patrick O'Heffernan. It's called Web Video for the Social Benefit Sector. Posting cellphone videos is not easy with all video hosts.
You can also see a video interview with Abby on the NetSquaredvlog. You can listen to the podcast by clicking on the "Big Vision podcast" link above, or by listening on the Gcast player in the right-hand column of this blog, or on iTunes. Just search for "big vision" in the podcast section of the iTunes Music Store.
Need a good vlogging (video blogging) tool? Try YouCam , a video and photo capture app with a built-in editor. The Box cloud storage app comes with 5GB of free storage to help you backup and manage your photos, documents, videos, and other files. Visit NetSquared and Microsoft for more details on the contest.
I will use a blog rich in video and audio to share my discoveries and analysis. Britt Bravo wrote a post several months back defining the term: people who are using their blog, podcast or vlog to raise awareness, build community, and/or facilitate readers/listeners/viewers' taking action to make the world a better place. What's that?
You need to start by checking out the content that is already being created by citizen journalists and activists about the issues you care about on blogs, podcasts and online video/vlogs. Online videos/vlogs Online videos or vlogs can searched for in the iTunes Music Store as well as on YouTube , blip.tv , DoGooderTV , QuantumShift.tv
This was done quite successfully at netsquared conference. I would add that I loved the way that netsquared did the video posts from the conference. Keep in mind, these vlog posts were done by veteran vloggers. VideoCasts/Skypecasts: I agree with Nancy's thoughts here.
Ickes, to post the Fund's video "Vote for Change." Last week I went to NetSquared's monthly San Francisco Meetup and talked with Japhet Els, Rainforest Action Network's Online Organizer. It is pretty amazing how viral videos have become an integral part of outreach for political and social change organizations.
