But did you know about NetSquared , our volunteer-driven network of in-person nonprofit technology training and peer support events? NetSquared has groups in 20 countries, and it held over 600 events last year, helping more than 17,000 nonprofit employees, board members, volunteers, and community leaders with technology.
Every month NetSquared volunteers hold free or low cost educational events for people and organizations who want to use technology for social good. Last week was the 2011 Nonprofit Technology Conference and not only did I have the pleasure of presenting a couple sessions, it was also my first NTC as a staffer, as I joined NTEN earlier this month. One thing I think C3 (my org) does well is that we take a lot of short, successful hops. I wanted to use today to focus in on a question recently posed by my good friend Joe Solomon on Twitter : What are the nonprofit/orgs that are working 2 wire the green movement, like what @ netsquared does 4 nonprofits, @ sunfoundation for politics; which orgs are working to expose data, leverage soc media, connect the orgs together?
I still don't know of that many nonprofits using Friendfeed , though, whether as an overall tool or for joining the "nptech" community conversation ( "nptech" is a tag that Beth Kanter, Marnie Webb, and others have been using to tag nonprofit technology resources on delicious, twitter, etc., for the last five years or so).
