A couple of weeks ago we hosted Steve Spiker ( @spjika ) at a NetSquared San Francisco event, who talked about how his organizations Urban Strategies Council and OpenOakland tackled data projects in Oakland, California. Check out the Netsquared blog for a detailed write-up.
TechSoup, Caravan Studios , and NetSquared were on the scene to observe and participate in hackathon events all over the country. A hackathon is an event where programmers, developers, designers, and leaders come together to collaborate on an app, website, or software projects. or Code for Oakland ).
