Here at NTEN, we were shocked and saddened to hear the news that last week our colleague, Michael DeLong, passed away very suddenly. Michael was an active member of the NTEN community, NTC speaker, colleague, friend, and an all-around great person to know. We mourn him and remember him well. May his gentle soul rest in peace.".

This week is National Volunteer Week ! You''ve probably seen the posts all week on the NTEN blog as we recognize and appreciate the tremendous amount of energy, passion, and action that SO many individuals in the NTEN community contribute to help us as an organization and to ensure that this is a thriving community for all.
The last time I saw him was in 2009 in San Francisco at the NTC. I just learned that Rob passed away , leaving behind a wife and two daughters. His projects included the National Strategy for Nonprofit Technology and the Circuit Riders Program. Rob Stuart shared my birthday, Jan. Rob was the godfather.
NTEN and M&R also released their report, the 2013 eNonprofit Benchmarks Study. The report covers 17 self reported NTEE verticals plus Canada, Teams, and National Non Profits. Given the breadth of the data points, you may ask yourself what should I read? Well, we’d hope all of them.
Each year, we at NTEN work hard to make the NTC a more environmentally sustainable event -- this year we even have carbon offsets for travelers! We''re also excited to share some of our NTC sponsors who are helping us go greener in April.

Not necessarily, according to the 2011 eNonprofit Benchmarks Study, just released at the 2011 NTC by M+R and NTEN. As it turns out, a high unsubscribe rate correlates directly with high fundraising results.

One of the case studies I shared was about NTEN’s recent social fundraiser to raise scholarship money for NTC conference attendance. They set up a c ommunity champions campaign on Razoo and asked their champions to commit to raising $500 each and that the money would be matched by the NTEN board.
