Android 11 review: features by the dozen

The Verge

Given how every Android phone does something different on a long press of the power button, I hope this new system becomes an enforced standard. Emergency lockdown for temporarily disabling biometrics is there, too, but it’s sadly hidden under an extra button press. The new music controls in Android 11. Image: Google.

Beats Studio Buds review: big ambition, imperfect execution

The Verge

It’s tactile and actually presses in instead of relying on capacitive touch sensors. I greatly prefer this approach since you won’t have to deal with accidental presses as often when adjusting the earbuds. The button only requires a light press, so you’re not constantly jamming the buds deeper into your ears.

To operate the camera, outside of its case, you push down on the Insta360 logo located under the lens, which then creates a vibration to signal it has been pressed. 1More ComfoBuds Pro review: comfortably sound

The Verge

This makes for a compact, pocketable design, but the trade-off is that removing them from the case isn’t so simple: you’ve got to press down on the stem, which pushes up the main earbud portion, and then pluck that out of the case. They reliably resumed the music whenever I put them back in my ears.

Microsoft’s Xbox Wireless Headset is a mic-drop moment

The Verge

During my tests, I listened to Spotify, and the music sounded good enough to stick with this headset instead of automatically reaching for my Sony 1000XM3s. The soundtrack and all of the various hellish sound effects have an adequate amount of crunch and punch, and I was head-banging to the music while I played.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Live review: cool beans

The Verge

The tap controls work just like those on the Galaxy Buds Plus: single tap to pause, double to skip, three to go back, and you can customize what a long press does. Photography by Chris Welch / The Verge. The Galaxy Buds Live have a bean-shaped design that stands out from other earbuds.
