It’s hitting Google’s own Pixel phones, of course, but in a pleasant surprise, there are a few others getting it right away, too. It’s a welcome improvement for the pace of Android updates, though the vast majority of Android phones won’t be getting the full OS update for some time. You can also mute notifications for chat threads.

But this review left me cold. As a daily smartwatch wearer and consumer gadget reviewer, Im offering you my completely free advice on what Id like to see on the next Apple Watch SE. Apart from the scuff, the screen on the 40mm Apple Watch SE I reviewed feels identical to the one on that wearable from 2018. Thats fine.

The OnePlus Buds require a OnePlus phone if you want to get the most from them, so these really won’t appeal to owners of other Android devices. There’s no way to pause music with the earbuds right now; all you can do is double-tap to skip to the next song or hold down for three seconds to switch between synced devices.

So I was the perfect person to try out the Bose Sleepbuds II, a set of $250 earbuds, which are specifically designed not to play music or podcasts, but to block out and replace sounds that might disturb your sleep. Note that I use the term “transfer” and not “stream” since the sounds actually live on the buds rather than your phone.).

Great in concept, but there’s a limit to what Alexa can do on a phone I did not expect to like the Amazon Echo Frames as much as I do. The concept is relatively simple: they’re a pair of eyeglasses with tiny little speakers and microphones embedded in the stems so you can listen to music and command Alexa. It cannot.

Earlier this year, Apple officially discontinued Music Memos, an iPhone app that allowed musicians to quickly record audio and develop new song ideas. This can be useful when reviewing the recordings later on, Walther says. The app offers full media center integration as well, so you can play back your music whenever you have time.
