Well, Chris Waters of the Nomad Cafe in Oakland not only thought about it, he made it happen. We participate in the City of Oakland's Maintain-a-Drain program, and do our part daily to remove litter from the street in our neighborhood. I had an intense desire to travel and experience new people and places.

I was in a very dark place struggling with a very serious health condition. I have multiple sclerosis, and my life was in a very awful place. I work with a medicine woman from Oakland. About a month later things were even worse, and I was in an even worse place. I was in this place of lack, stuck in a place of lack.
