Amazon also has a brand-new Echo Dot lineup that, well, echoes the design of the larger model, shrinking it down and bringing it to an even lower price point. Lastly, the design is also much more directional than the prior models. The Echo is good at picking up voice commands even while music is playing.

Echo Show 5 (2nd Gen) : it has a 2-megapixel camera instead of the 1-megapixel sensor of the first model; it comes in blue as well as the black and white color options; and the 3.5mm output jack on the back is gone. That means that this new model provides effectively the same experience as the prior generation.

This is Marshall’s most subdued speaker design yet, and it offers a simpler look than previous models, though it’s not as fashionable or as colorful as some other small Bluetooth speakers. It’s reminiscent of leveling up in Call of Duty , and that’s a vibe that’s incongruous with the kind of music I usually like to listen to.

And while I wish this model had a bungee-style headband and swiveling ear cups like most SteelSeries headsets, not having these features didn’t equate to comfort issues here. During my tests, I listened to Spotify, and the music sounded good enough to stick with this headset instead of automatically reaching for my Sony 1000XM3s.

But in the four years since the Google Home, Amazon has released multiple generations of new Echo models and leap-frogged the Home in audio quality, design, and features. Additionally, the Nest Audio sounds good at lower volumes, which is nice when I just want some background music while I’m working or during dinner.

And there’s an enormous 97-inch 4K model that’s joining the G series. LG’s 2022 OLED lineup includes a 42-inch model that could be perfect as a gaming monitor.
