Via Britt Bravo Do you have an idea for how a mashup could be a tool for social change? NetSquared, a project of TechSoup, is awarding a share of $100,000 in prize money, and a trip to the NetSquared Conference, to the top 20 winners of the NetSquaredMashup Challenge.
As some of you know, part of my work is being the Community Builder for NetSquared , a project of Tech Soup that facilitates the adoption of social web tools by nonprofits and NGOs. Wikipedia defines a mashup as, "a web application that combines data from more than one source into a single integrated tool."
The last leg of the journey was to attend the Netsquared Conference (N2Y3) where three winners of the NetSquaredMashup Challenge were selected by conference participants. I was on a team of video bloggers who conducted formal interviews with representatives from the 21 featured projects. Also a NetSquared winner.).
TechSoup Global's NetSquaredproject is doing some amazing work, particularly on the use of mobile technologies and social change around the world. During the early days of our Netsquaredproject , we held big annual conferences to showcase and fund innovative tech for good. We got to know Ushahidi's work when it entered our legendary third NetSquaredMashup Challenge in Santa Clara, California in May of 2008.
