I like to be informed of what the organization is doing, but I dont want mail solicitations. So, should we send them more e-mails? The reality is, we're all bombarded with digital messages and shares and likes and spam. Currently (on my lowly grad student budget), I only give money to one nonprofit org. Great advice!
For many of these issues, good spam/virus filtering is essential. I also use [link] as an incoming mail filter proxy. Plus, there is always the trusty search engine. At my organization, we use Zimbra.com's Collaboration Suite Network Edition , which has a good configuration of SpamAssassin.
Myspace avoids spamming so the members usually blocks people from adding them directly unless you know them personally or their email. So what I have been doing is sending out mails one by one! To invite people in Myspace is also painstakingly difficult unlike Friendster that you just click a button and invite. Its pure luck too.
