It's a 14-inch laptop that weighs just 2.2 Now to be clear, the Zenbook A14 is a serviceable laptop for light productivity work. So while the Zenbook A14 may seem like a MacBook Air killer at first glance, it's more of a reminder of how well Apple has balanced that laptop. But I suppose that just makes it a true lightweight.
Deputy Reviews Editor Miller Kern gave them a nearly perfect rating upon tested, crediting their impeccable sound quality, great noise cancellation, and customizable sound. Read our full review of the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones. Check out our full review of the Fitbit Inspire 3. Mashable's reviewer gave it 4.5
The Framework laptop is designed to be easily upgradeable, from the RAM, the ports, faster Wi-Fi, or even replacing the motherboard without tossing the whole laptop. On paper, it sounds nifty, but in practice there are some concerns.
AMD continues to rip and tear — a familiar refrain for 2020’s laptops so far Dell’s G5 15 SE is focused. It’s not the best-looking gaming laptop or the fastest out there, but starting at $879.99, its AMD Ryzen processor and RX 5600M graphics chip make for a great tag team. This test proves that this processor rips and tears.
Asus is touting it as the world’s lightest 14-inch commercial laptop, and it is light. That means the ExpertBook isn’t the longest-lasting business laptop I’ve ever tested (the $3,000 Dell Latitude still holds that crown), but it’s certainly in the hall of fame. All this sounds great, so what’s the catch? My test unit is 2.19
The Sonos Arc Ultra is a $999 premium soundbar from the smart home audio brand, and it promises unmatched surround sound thanks to the brand's new Sound Motion technology, which works with Dolby Atmos to fill the room with realistic, perfectly realized sound. Surround sound: 9.1.4 Surround sound: 9.1.4
The best laptop under $1,000 This year’s HP Envy x360 is a big deal. It’s easily the best laptop under $1,000 that you can buy right now. My $799 review unit has the Ryzen 5-4500U, along with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. AMD processors have mostly been fodder for budget and midrange laptops for the past few years.

Perfection, for a price I have used a heck of a lot of laptops in the past year, and some of them are quite nice. But I’ve never touched a consumer laptop as gorgeous as the Spectre x360 14. as tested) the Spectre x360 is easily my new favorite 2-in-1 laptop. With a starting MSRP of $1,299.99 ($1,589.99
Functional but could be better This year, multiple companies primarily known for gaming laptops have been branching out into the portable business and productivity sector. In this review I’m looking at the Summit Series , which is MSI’s attempt to enter the same space. I would expect more from a $1,249 laptop.

A great gaming rig and an okay laptop If you’re looking for the absolute most powerful gaming hardware out there. You want a desktop or a laptop that weighs seven pounds, requires multiple power bricks, and is basically a desktop. These are gaming laptops. Moving on to other laptop stuff. They are just for games.
Microsoft’s newest Surface Laptop brings better battery life and a better chip On paper, the Surface Laptop 4 is a Surface Laptop 3 with better chips. Sure, there are differences here and there: the Laptop 4 is ever-so-slightly thinner, and there’s a new “Ice Blue” color option. You can configure both the 13.5-inch
I wish this looked like the Surface Pro X,” lamented Tom Warren in his otherwise positive review of the Surface Pro 7. Across the internet, reviewers begged Microsoft to find a way to put the Pro 7’s chips in the Pro X’s chassis. The screen is finally laptop-sized. And now, two years later, that’s exactly what Microsoft did.
The problem isn’t the sound quality; the Quest 2 has reasonable audio, although I find it a little thin. It’s that the sound is audible to anybody in the same room, and none of my headphones work well with the headset. These games weren’t available for review, but the existing Quest catalog already includes some relatively recent gems.
And aside from a few tweaks Sony made to how it upscales music, the 1000XM4s sound just like their predecessors — a very good thing, trust me. This also lets you find your misplaced headphones by playing a sound through them, and you’ll get low-battery notifications when that 30-hour runtime is nearly exhausted. Look familiar?
The keyboard on the second-generation model has been made a more neutral black, even as the orange hue has extended to the sides of the laptop. Combining the improved battery life and graphics performance from those chips with the already good-looking Samsung Galaxy Chromebook sounds like an intriguing possibility.
HP says the new laptop should be up to 34 percent faster than last year’s Spectre x360 13 model. One of the biggest annoyances we had with its 13-inch predecessor was its 16:9 display, which my colleague Dan Seifert called “cramped” in his review. An intriguing location for the Thunderbolt 4 port.
An OLED screen, a cutting-edge GPU, and a hefty price tag The Gigabyte Aero 15 is a laptop aimed at designers and creative professionals. It looks nothing like any laptop that comes to mind when I think of “creators” (the slim and sleek MacBook Pros, XPS 15s, Surface Books, and Zenbooks of the world). inches wide and 4.4
The lid, which had a red MSI logo on the GP65, is all black on the GP66, and the two raised ridges in the center of the GP65 that gave the laptop a distinctively “gamer” look are gone. That doesn’t mean this is the best-made laptop around. That’s dim, even for a mid-tier gaming laptop. Finally, on sound.
Lenovo’s latest convertible has excellent speakers and good performance Lenovo is a big player in the convertible laptop sphere, and the Yoga 9i is its top dog. There’s actually a 14-inch laptop out there with very good audio. I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the best audio I’ve ever heard from a laptop of this size.
Check out my colleague Chris Welch’s review (and very fun video review by Becca Farsace above) to find out all of the details about these earphones. Dell’s 15-inch G5 15 gaming laptop is just $1,200 at Dell. That’s a great price for a set of wireless earbuds that have good battery life with IPX4 water and sweat resistance.
This is what the future of the Mac looks like Last week might’ve been the most important week of this year for consumer laptops. Apple announced its new M1 chip, which, if the company’s claims about performance gains are to be believed, could redefine our expectations for laptop processors. You don’t interact with Rosetta 2.

pounds — a weight unheard of for a system with both a powerful processor and a discrete GPU — but it ran even the most demanding games at much better frame rates than any gaming laptop we’d ever seen at that size. Not only is the latter quite expensive, but very few laptops can run demanding games at playable frame rates in 4K.).
The touchscreen, made of Corning Gorilla Glass 6, has a 3840 x 2400 resolution, one of the highest resolutions you’ll find on a consumer laptop. It’s all a joy to use, and I’m dreading going back to a laptop with a 16:9 panel. Music sounded good, and the 3D feature made a noticeable difference. It’s a world away from 16:9.
There’s also a very slight color variation between the two displays on my review unit — the white point on the left-hand side seems a little redder. The original version it sent out to reviewers was riddled with show-stopping bugs and crashes. That project sounds vaguely familiar, actually. Microsoft’s Android.
OLED panels — which made a name for themselves in high-end TVs but are growing more popular in laptops as well — can deliver a stunning picture compared to IPS LCD displays. But all those pixels suck up a heck of a lot of battery, and companies sometimes slap them on laptops that can’t fully fill their power needs. It’s just 2.65
(Asus’s Vivobook Pro 14 OLED, which I reviewed earlier , is another.) A bit of a spoiler: both of these features are cool but not quite as cool as they sound, especially considering their impact on battery life. If that happens, I will update this review. The second is that the touchpad is also a screen. Pretty color scheme.
The BBC is out with a small, interesting study comparing the light and dark modes of one of its website pages on an older laptop. Faced with a dark mode version, most people turned up the brightness a notable amount, sometimes drawing more power than on light mode.
inch Omen gaming laptop is $300 off at Best Buy when you’re signed in with a free account. This machine released just a few months ago, and for this low price, it offers probably the best bang for your buck that I’ve seen in a laptop recently. These have great sound quality and long-lasting battery life. HP’s redesigned 15.6-inch
Good sound quality and best-in-class noise cancellation come in an awkwardly big case Bose’s original true wireless earbuds, the SoundSport Free, sounded fantastic but were foiled by connectivity problems and audio / video sync issues that the company never fully resolved. They still sound terrific — and now, they’ve got ANC.
The Elite Folio is a lightweight, leather-covered, convertible Windows laptop powered by a Snapdragon processor with Arm architecture. Arm for Windows has certainly improved since we first reviewed the Surface Pro X in 2019. The Folio is a convertible laptop, but you have more than the usual tent, tablet, and clamshell options.
The second-gen model may lack some of the more convenient features found in today’s earbuds, notably wireless charging and multi-point Bluetooth connectivity, but they remain superior to the original AirPods when it comes to battery life and sound quality. I went into this review with two main questions: does the 1165G7 beat its Intel predecessor (the 1065G7, which powers the most recent Dell XPS 13 ) and does it beat AMD’s Ryzen 7 4800U (part of Lenovo’s IdeaPad Slim 7 )? The UX425 is light for a 14-inch laptop at 2.49 percent less power than most laptop displays do.
Cutting through games like a hot Blade If you’re after a minimalist, dead-serious-looking gaming laptop, Razer’s Blade is still the one to get. Its aluminum-clad design looks more akin to Microsoft’s Surface Laptop 4 than a laptop that was made for gaming. Otherwise, this laptop is the physical manifestation of dark mode.

This laptop is a big deal I recently reviewed the Gigabyte Aero 16 , a 16-inch Intel-powered workstation with a powerful GPU. The 16-inch laptop category has traditionally been dominated by those sorts of desktop replacements. This is an AMD-powered, portable laptop with a more midrange-level GPU and a 16-inch screen.
In many cases, using the headphones you already love will also give you better sound quality than you’d get buying a single-purpose gaming headset. The older BoomPro used an omnidirectional mic, which allowed more ambient sound to come through. USB-C adapters work fine too. There’s also a Y-adapter included.
Unlike AirPods Pro or Bose’s QuietComfort Earbuds, these noise-canceling buds can pair with two devices at once Over the last several years, Jabra’s true wireless earbuds have consistently earned positive reviews and are often at the top of recommendation lists for people who aren’t interested in Apple’s AirPods.
Two screens, five cameras, one hinge, $2,000 It’s a weird sort of relief to be reviewing the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2. One notable feature is the speaker setup: the Z Fold 2 has stereo speakers, and they get very loud and sound quite good. The first was pulled from the market days before release because it was too fragile.
They don’t win at any one thing, but they strike a great mix in terms of sound quality, ANC, and comfort Let’s just get to it: Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Pro are the best true wireless earbuds that the company has made yet. For their $200 asking price, you get a comfortable fit, effective active noise cancellation, and good, punchy sound quality.
