I just returned from the Nonprofit Technology Conference (#12NTC) hosted by NTEN in San Francisco, CA. Holly and the rest of the NTEN team (including all the volunteers) did an incredible job inspiring of over 1800 people for three days. The conference was amazing!

We are excited to welcome longtime NTEN Member, Ash Shepherd, to the NTEN team. As the Education Director, Ash will be responsible for overseeing and designing programs for the NTEN Community to help them transform technology into social change. So, when I first came to NTEN in the summer of 2012, I was a little overly conscious of my underdeveloped technology muscles. When NTEN decided to step up our sustainability efforts earlier this year, we knew that we really wanted input from our members. We formed a Sustainability Committee comprised of member volunteers.

On the recent NTEN community call someone asked the panel to name 5 vendors (other than Blackbaud and Convio) to whom we’d send a CRM system RFP for a $100 million nonprofit. Software alone seldom gets the job done. There were few full solutions designed for large nonprofits to begin with.

Recently, I've been thinking about the launch of NTEN's newest resource: NTEN:Change, A Quarterly Journal for Nonprofit Leaders. We also wanted to make the journal interactive: like all of NTEN programming and resources, we wanted it to be a launching pad to connect you with peers, colleagues, and other resources in the community.
