There are a lot different styles, philosophies, and techniques for facilitating groups of people. Check out the International Association of Facilitator’s Method database which contains more than 500 entries. The book is an extremely practical resource whether you are working on improving your skills or teaching others.
I love teaching (and learning) and it was a pleasure to work with students, nonprofits, and faculty. Here’s a few frameworks and techniques I learned first hand from Nancy as she accompanied me to the sessions I was leading. It is about simply learning how to use a new tool or technique.

There has been plenty written about interviewing developers and the pitfalls of when traditional interviewing techniques are used on coders. Interviews are done quickly in anything from half-an-hour to an hour, and everyone is interviewed at least twice, usually more, even if they come massively highly recommended internally.

Teaching in an international context. When teaching in different contexts, especially outside of the US, you need to make some adjustments to your context. Here are three techniques I use: Connect with and research audience via social media. It always helps me improve practice. A lot of it is re-framing and re-purposing.
The insider can champion your request and walk the request through the internal steps for approval. I used this technique many times, and it helped me raise awareness and add dozens of new supporters every time I spoke at a church or to a community group. Its a technique that worked for Jesus.
