We have a couple of email listservs on Google Groups of our top-tier advocates that we've been interested in migrating to an online community. In fact, the app includes "Chattalytics" which shows the top 50 influencers out of 15,000 or so folks in the Dreamforce app. I left status updates. I got the mobile app.
On a listserv the other day, Laura Quinn at Idealware asked if "Visit" or "Click" data on Feedburner were useful metrics to track to assess reader interest in your blog content. Remember bookmarked items can also influence your blog traffic (positively). It can also influence traffic. Are there patterns?
We've been helping groups for many years with ways to have a little more influence and get a little more impact out of their online and offline events. If the event is offline, conduct follow-up online discussion using a simple listserve or a group collaboration tool to keep the lively discussions going.

I had a fascinating conversation recently with a program officer about running an online community for African educators making use of good old-fashioned Listserv technology. Tags: Influence Collaboration. Designing and building a collaboration community is a rich and multi-layered experience. Oh, and let us know what you're learning!
I shared this on a listserv with some nonprofit technology geeks (aka circuit riders) and one of them told me that his father worked at the same school as Doug in Minnesota. That marvelous patch work quilt of different and connected s in the blogosphere that influences your thinking, your writing, and sometimes your practice.
How might it influence your choice of using Second Life for a project? I posted a question on the educator listserv and there doesn't seem to be one. This is interesting to me because Second Life is quite the opposite - there is a huge investment in learning the tools, there is no audio (although that is changing) and it is all visual.
The board member is a person of influence who invited some friends and colleagues to their home and the CEO spoke about the vision. So feel free to get on our mailing listserv or whatever the real phrase is called and stay in touch. But it was still able to be outside should it be in COVID. Would love to continue the conversation.
the listserv question was focused on blog metrics and primarily as traffic and driving traffic! What rankings and influence? "A blogger's influence should not be measured by in-bound links (like technorati), but out-bound links. It goes into the topic of social networking analysis.huh?
As a poet, I know how a wide range of poets over a few hundred years have influenced my work. Wendy: We were also very concious about not wanting ExhibitFiles to interfere the ASTC/ISEN listserv. I know where to go when I want more data from a particular style or poet.
