" I'm trying to walk the walk and talk the talk of Remixing Content for nonprofits. One thing you'll notice is that the presentation itself is a remix of a remix. I remixed it from an earlier prsentation called Associations 2.0 Mashup or: Why educators should learn to stop worrying and love the remix.
Tiffany Chu, SVP of Via and co-founder and former CEO of Remix, had been working in user experience design at ZipCar when, in 2014, she decided to take a year off for a fellowship at Code for America. Today, the reach of the original Remix platform is extended even further as part of Via’s over 500 partnerships across five continents.
As many of you know who read this blog, I am an early adopter of social media and set up my listening post 5 years ago to scan for people, trends, and ideas related to social media and nonprofits. The first part of the problem is that India still has low literacy rates - the 2009 Annual Status of Education Report shows that between classes 1 to 8 only around 40% of children can read a class 2 level text in their own language and an even lower 23% of children can ready easy sentences in English - sentences of the kind "What is your name?"

It made remember the workshops I taught way back in 1993 for arts people about Internet literacy - the web was just getting started.
