I feel inspired by the outpouring of support for Haiti we've seen this past week. As we know, you can donate $10 to the Red Cross for Haiti relief by texting “Haiti” to 90999. As of Friday, the American Red Cross had raised $9 million in mobile giving through this program. Often just $10.

In the midst of the viral Text HAITI to 90999 message, we saw the emergence of what we're calling emergency social data, or #crisisdata.
