I’m gathering my thoughts to start putting together my slides and presentation and wanted to stop for reflection and sharing. Libraries, whether associated with a school, government, agency or geography, serve a community. The keynote will focus on “Libraries: The Oldest New Frontier for Innovation”.
Below, I’ve shared my keynote remarks and slides and I hope you’ll share your ideas and further the conversation in the comments. Government Grants. Federal, state, and localgovernments offer nonprofits funding through grant programs. For some nonprofits, fees charged for special services or the sale of product can be an enormous income resource for their funding coffers.
Local connections built through engagement. Organizers in local community own the agenda. The governance issue is very interesting. Rebbecca shared some lessons learned by “retro-fitting&# theory to their actual practice using this framework. Hands-off approach.

This increase in demand is coupled with unreliable and insufficient funding, particularly from the government. The conversation is just beginning.
