PubSubHubbub co-creator Brad Fitzpatrick, a serial innovator who's been essential in the creation of social networking, OpenID and other technologies, says he thinks that real-time push technologies could someday replace the need for most of the web crawling his employer Google does to maintain its index. That's a huge win for efficiency.

The NpTech Community has been early adopters of social media and social networks like Twitter. NTEN had also set up a google application that lets people vote on questions which how they decided to handle the Q/A in a room of 1400 people. Poll your members where are they? Social network platforms are an example.
