Authorized Entities Trusted Intermediaries

A hot topic at the SCCR20/WIPO discussions in Geneva on global access to materials by the print disabilities is the term "Trusted Intermediaries"("TIs"). proposal has similar (but not quite as out there) language saying that the organization using the exception has to have the trust of both the publishers and the consumer groups.

Fascinating Meeting at the Copyright Office

The hot topic was the proposal made by Brazil, Ecuador and Paraguay, for a global treaty (a treaty for which I was part of the expert drafting team). We just need to make sure that any global treaty that is negotiated doesn’t make things worse for people with disabilities here in the U.S.!
