They also held a student art contest to design a special Art in Action necklace that could be purchased on the day, with an even higher percentage of proceeds going to the org. Don’t forget to sell bottles of wine at the event where a portion of proceeds go to support your org! Registrations could be individual fees or family packs.

Does anyone carve, knit, sew or create t-shirts… or fun food? Many sponsors and donors want recognition for their support. Mention the donor in emails directly about the event they sponsored. This can be 4 emails a year dedicated to sponsors who give the org $10K or more. These need not look like a commercial.

Not chasing those sponsors, not writing another grant. You know, we spend, you know, $100,000 with them per year and they’re $250 golf tournament whole sponsor. It’s right inside the lobby of all the big org headquarters buildings, and, you know, theaters and whatever, educational institutions. Look at it, 77.6%

As a consultant working for an agency, sometimes there can be some issues with sharing "institutional knowledge" but all of the presenters I saw -- orgs and agencies alike -- were totally open and honest and it is a delight to be in that kind of company. This year, we could have basically closed registration on the second day!
