When I go to Facebook, I typically skim back in my feed to see what I missed since my last visit. Now, if you haven't experienced the NTC yet, simply hearing that it's "the biggest, most fun nonprofit technology event of the year" probably won't convince you (even though it's true). So, here's a (certainly incomplete) list of reasons you should take the leap and: > Register for the 2010 NTC. We'll feed.
The NTEN's NTC and NPTech Pipe. We have the NPTech Meta Tag Feed (which aggregates about dozen feeds of NpTech tagged items and I'm still using for various reasons); Kikono.org (which uses an NpTech feed and digg like features) and now we have the two pipes from NTEN - the NTC pipe and the NpTech Pipe.
In 2007, I realized that a much more effective way to aggregate interesting actions would be to subscribe to RSS feeds from trusted sources. I wrote about the potential for aggregating RSS feeds of giving opportunities in a blog post called, Why We Need Group Fundraising RSS Feeds. They were talking about API’s. was difficult.

Last week was the 2011 Nonprofit Technology Conference and not only did I have the pleasure of presenting a couple sessions, it was also my first NTC as a staffer, as I joined NTEN earlier this month. Not exactly as simply as the goldfish, but one that after a few steps feeds back to the beginning.
The NTC session Bridging the Funding Gap did just that: brought nonprofits and foundations together to start discussing technology funding barriers and to brainstorm solutions. And that conversations like the one at NTC are crucial to making change. Better technology means a nonprofit operates more efficiently.

Attend NTEN's NTC Conference in April and attend the social media tracks. Use tools like PostRank to filter your feeds so you can easily pick out the best content. Live in a tool or technique for at least month before adding something new. Try tweaking the strategy for several months in a row by building in reflection time.
