I heard first hand from Eugene Eric Kim about strategic planning at Wikipedia. As he shared the story, I had some questions about weaving offline/online collaboration within networks. We most typically think of the offline/online as a sequence somewhat like this: Small group meets face-to-face - builds trust.

The first example of direct content is the use of Wikipedia during the 7/7 bombings in London. Millions of editors on Wikipedia and it’s rise in public use was climbing. Wikipedia was a popular resource and established as a citizen-driven information source. Another example of indirect content is that of social networks.

Use the tag #MPS09 to follow conversations and highlights from others at the event. For example, PatientOpinion’s community could operate very different if it was a for-profit company instead of a nonprofit organization. Examples: YouTube, eBay, Wikipedia, Google. Examples: Wikipedia. Absolutely.

Some user curate user generated content, by tagging it on social bookmarking websites, voting for it on social voting websites, commenting on it, or linking to it. Wikis are a perfect example of co-creation. Open group blogs, photo pools, video collages and similar projects are also good examples of co-creation.

I asked if I could live tweet to bring others into the conversation which I did using the tag #packfound. . This is the way I've described the Nptech Tagging community and other ad-hoc communities where people come ogether first through social media tools. He used the example of the recent NetFlix prize as an example.

Some examples: A follower on Twitter or someone you're following. For example, a one-way connection on Twitter is someone who follows you, but you don't follow back. For example, on Twitter, a strong tie could be two nodes or people that engage consistently in two-way conversation. Tags: network effectiveness.
