To celebrate, ChildFund International is giving gifts of agricultural love and hope from the organization’s gift catalog for every 200 Twitter followers @childfund. These efforts will directly benefit children in Gambia, Zambia, Kenya and Ethiopia. Vegetable seeds in Ethiopia. A goat for a family farm in Zambia.

Global Girlfriend is an online fair trade store that sells handmade gifts made by women's non-profit programs and cooperatives. While I received an email thanking me at that time, their purpose was a simple update on a gift I made about 6 months prior to their Water Forward campaign. passed, my mom responded by giving me the most memorable birthday gift of my life: a box of monogrammed stationary. Chris Brogan and 81 other Twitter users helped reached this goal with small gifts in 24 hours. The Well That Twitter Built: On September 18th, Mashable's Twitter followers donated $3,536 to Charity:Water, an initative to build wells in Ethiopia. Paul Young raised an addition $637 through Twitter and shared some of his reflections.

Black Gold tells the story of Tadesse Meskela, the manager of the Oromia Coffee Farmers Co-operative Union in Ethiopia. 67% of Ethiopia's export income is from coffee, so Meskela's story is the story of many Ethiopian farmers. During the film Meskela tries to find buyers who will pay a higher price for his farmers' coffee.
