" The biggest drawback so far is that there's no built-in way to search for text in calendar entries. The best solution seems to be to sync my calendar with Google (less of a worry than storing my contacts there) and use the free Google Calendar Search app. Sync with Outlook is a mandatory requirement for me. Here's what I've ended up with: Contacts: gSyncIt, via Google (my contacts sync to Gmail, then to the Pre). If I added a new contact in Gmail, it sync'd to the Pre, but if I added or deleted a contact on the Pre the change didn't show up in Gmail. Allow messaging and email in landscape mode. Tasks: gSyncIt, via Google.

Pro-Android: I have 3 email accounts, all Gmail. A quick search of the Android Marketplace reveals that most of my favorite iPhone apps have Android equivalents, mostly free. Furthermore, there are 5 lines in our family plan all with varying upgrade dates. Just not feasible to switch. But should I go Android?

You could actually set up a specific gmail acocunt just for your social media activities and this would seperate it from your regular business email account and work flow. When I open my google/gmail accounts, I have to a purpose and a goal - and be very disciplined or else risk getting distracted.

For my email address, I added judisohn.com as a domain in Google Apps, along with all the necessary MX entries on my MediaTemple hosted domain. Now any email address to my @momathome.com email will automatically work for @judisohn.com. In Gmail, I set the new domain as my default sending address.
