Vindigo: The App That Wouldn’t Die

Robert Weiner

I’ve been using Vindigo for at least a decade. It’s a big part of what kept me loyal to Palm PDAs and phones. It provided a restaurant guide with reviews, maps, and walking directions; movie reviews and show times for theaters; museum listings; a guide to bars and clubs; locations and contact info for local businesses; and even bathroom locations for cities around the U.S.

License your photos and more on Facebook

Amy Sample Ward

This blog has a Creative Commons license. Why? Because I want people to know that I expect them to share things they find interesting, or to help further the conversation but that in sharing, others need to keep the content free, too. Because Creative Commons licenses help creators, sharers, and readers enjoy online content respectfully. So, when I saw that Creative Commons released a version of the licensing and an application for Facebook , I had to check it out!

The world gets smaller with digital magazines

Judi Sohn

I’ve long been a fan of digital magazines. No clutter, no waiting until the mailman decides to deliver the latest issue. Most of my personal subscriptions are through Zinio if it’s an available option. The big downside to Zinio is their ridiculously draconian DRM. For example, if I download a magazine to my iMac, I can’t read the same file from my laptop.

Is Mobile Fundraising the Next Big Thing?

NetWits

I recently made a $5 donation through my iPhone to the ASPCA which only took a matter of seconds to complete. My new MacBook

Judi Sohn

Yesterday, I bought a 2.4 Ghz 13″ MacBook with 4 GB RAM to replace my 2.5 year old 15.4″ MacBook Pro. I wanted to stretch the MacBook Pro out to the full 3 years, but it was not to be. For starters, take a look at the keyboard to get an idea of the kind of use that computer has seen: For about 2 years the MacBook Pro was my sole computer, getting at least 10-12 hours of solid use a day.
