Everyone gets excited about redesigning their website. It’s a chance to start fresh. New ideas, a fresh design, new technology and a renewed focus on your online presence – all factors that drive peoples excitement. There’s one problem though. You’re focus is in the wrong place. Too much time is spent looking inwards at what needs to improve rather than on the primary focus of the site – that is, appealing to and engaging your supporters.

It’s been a few days since I returned from the Nonprofit Technology Conference (#12NTC) hosted by NTEN in San Francisco, CA. Holly and the rest of the NTEN team (including all the volunteers) did an incredible job inspiring of over 1800 people for three days. The conference was amazing! Pinterest is now the #3 social network according to a new Experian report. That’s pretty amazing for a social network that was launched 2 years ago and still requires you to get an invitation to be on it. Being third means more people use it than LinkedIn , Tumblr or Google+. Some people call Pinterest a new version of a scrapbook. Other’s aren’t sure what to think.
I got 8 of these at 2 different email addresses, always a sign of spam. The pitch is similar to the American Airlines ticket scam but not as well done. The U.S. Air logo looks terrible, the formatting is sloppy, all the departure cities and times are the same -- only the flight number and confirmation code (and hyperlink destination) vary, and there's no arrival city (which is perfect if you think about it).
