Some might be asking - why did Beth stop blogging for six months? Well, there was the stalker incident - I can't say any more about that. But, more importantly, I been busy, no overwhelmed, with the new addition to our family, a daughter named Sara Botum. She arrived in October, 2003 from Cambodia at age 2.5. Her Cambodian name means "Princess," so we named her Sara which also means princess.

ZZStructure: Information Design

Zzstructure "is a way of representing the structure of information. It was invented by Ted Nelson and currently being worked on collaboration with hyperstructure group. Zzstructure is very different, for example the concepts of 'file', 'folder' and 'application' are abandoned. Because of this a bit of fantasy, creativity and an ability to forget previous knowledge is needed in order to understand Zzstructure.

Happy Chinese New Year or Gung Hay Fat Choy. The Year of the Monkey officially started on January 22, 2004. To celebrate at Harry and Sara Botum's pre-school, we read the kids several stories about the cultural customs of Chinese New Year's, made our own noisemakers by filling stapled paper plates with beans, and did the lion's dance through the halls of the school with a decorated card board box.
