Today the news is that Blackbaud is killing off Common Ground , one of the two donor management products (aka CRMs or Constituent Relationship Management systems) that they acquired from Convio.

This one's scary since I'm an eFax user. But I was suspicious that it was asking me to click on a link (pointing to a server in Germany) rather than open an attachment. There were lots of warnings in 2010 about fake eFax messages delivering malware. I don't know what this one does and don't intend to find out. Here's what they look like. At Benetech, we're thinking about human rights activists everyday. We're not human rights advocates: we're a group of technologists and scientists dedicated to helping the human rights movement be safer and more effective. We prefer to work mainly behind the scenes, helping the activists pursue their mission of improving respect for human rights, advocating for policy change that advance rights and sometimes even obtaining justice against the perpetrators.

Mistakes can lead to costly penalties and operational disruptions, making it essential to adopt advanced solutions that ensure accuracy and efficiency.

If you’ve read any of my previous marketing focused articles, you might notice a common, underlying theme : If you’re not measuring, you’re not marketing. In my professional life, this is a credo I live by. Companies live and die by how agile they are and how they’re meeting the demands of their customers. But the age old question is: “How do I know what customers want?

A few years ago, Cause Marketing was all the rage. Nonprofits – small and large – were scurrying to create “meaningful” corporate partnerships NOT sponsorships. Some did it well ( Pink Ribbon anyone?? ) while others struggled. No one disagrees that proving a company’s Social Responsiblity is very important to consumers. In fact, in a 2011 report, consumers spoke very loudly that they expect companies to drive social and environmental change and that they will reward these efforts.

'A month ago, in 1969, Neil Armstrong was the first human to step on a surface beyond the Earth. With his passing today we lose a part of our own history, with the man who took that "giant leap for mankind." Innovation looks different from industry to industry — some new products improve current processes while others completely disrupt them, challenging the way we see situations we’ve put up with for so long. As online and offline world continue to collide, more and more companies are harnessing the possibilities of the web to solve offline problems.
Back in 2009 I wrote up 10 tips for managing social media burnout and taking my own advice, I am going offline for three weeks. On vacation… in remote areas in a distant land… viewing wildlife (hopefully)… and 100% offline. No smartphone. No tablet. No work. Just a camera, a couple of good books, and a journal, a pen, and a glue stick.
Your website has a lot to say. If a person from each department of your organization stood in front of you and shouted information, chances are you wouldn’t decipher anything through the noise. At the very least, you would be confused. If you don’t prioritize your content to convert the noise into clear messages, your users will experience the same confusion.

'Yesterday, I''m sitting in my room in Oakland, and I hear a series of gunshots very close to my house. I look out of the windows, but don''t see much. The police block off the street, and apparently, someone was at least gravely injured, but I haven''t heard details. But of course, this was only one of many incidents of gun violence, in Oakland, in Californai, and in the United States. .
