NTEN's blog discusses the details of the break-in and lessons we should learn from it. You said you've read the Idealware/NTEN Consumer's Guide, so you know that (system x) got a strong rating there. Last, you need to get a contract that shows you all of the costs, including setting up the system, converting your data, (ideally) documenting your data entry processes, and training your staff.

I got hear the legends in the nptech sector in the early days talk about their work and was inspired.

Technology used to be, as Jane Messeck of Microsoft Community Affairs puts it, transactional: it was about moving a document from point A to point B faster, making it easier to store and find things, making sure everyone could print. Technology was about efficiency. . Of course, technology is still about efficiency.

I did a webinar for NTEN on it – ReadyTalk worked just fine. I also have a document nightmare – I have documents on the desktop, documents on my laptop, documents on external hard drives, aiii. Flash (and, therefore, YouTube) is working, as is Java.

Karl Hedstrom, NTEN. It works out well, then, that one of my tasks each week at NTEN is the maintenance of our Organizational Dashboard. NTEN's Dashboard is a snapshot of our many different program areas and associated goals. Since then, however, NTEN's Dashboard has seen many improvements.

We are, of course, sad that it means the NTEN office hasn’t moved to Chicago to be with her. In her time at NTEN, Julia shared many lessons that we will continue to learn from and laugh about for years to come. She will continue to be an active NTEN Member, so it’s not goodbye! NTEN has recently published the “ Equity Guide for Nonprofit Technology ,” that describes in detail how your organization can dismantle inequity due to more intentional technology choices. The smoothest way to collect feedback is via collaborative cloud-based documents such as Google Docs or Slides, Slack, or other collaboration platforms.
