I’ve used a variety of email clients of one sort or another over time, and I have recently just decided to ditch them, and use gmail exclusively. I use Canned Responses to provide HTML signatures when needed, and also forward all of my mail to gmail, then send out mail as other identities. It works for multiple projects.

So I did the usual, gave up my gmail password. So people who were in my gmail address book, and in Spock, got a request for trust from me, not knowing where it came from. Spokeo takes your gmail, aol, or yahoo address book and, looking at a wide variety of web 2.0 Then, for the creepy part. I joined Spokeo. Be Helpful.

Cloud computing just doesn’t make any sense, or work in any reasonable way without it (have you ever tried to use Gmail on dial up?) I think this model may become more prevalent, as organizations are not going to comfortable letting vendors store their data, but will want to take advantage of RIAs like Gliffy or Google Docs.

For example, I blogged about a problem with Gmail rendering back on June 19th. Don’t you use AdSense, AdWords, Feedburner, Analytics, gCalendar, and Docs? For the techie-geek who runs Linux and open source software as a general rule, this is not a huge concern. But Judi, isn’t all your email on Google servers?
