Multiple Google services are currently experiencing outages, with some users unable to create new documents in Google Docs and Google Sheets. Google’s Workspace Status Dashboard is reporting that Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Classroom are all experiencing service disruptions. The Google Docs Team.
Google is making it even easier to work with Microsoft Office files, with the company now allowing users to directly edit attached Office files in Gmail, much like it already allows with Google Docs or Sheets files. But the new editing function doesn’t convert Office files into Google Docs, instead preserving the original file format.

Google is updating its office software on mobile devices for G Suite users, adding new features to the Docs, Sheets, and Slides apps that should make it easier to get work done from your smartphone. Google is also bundling in the news that Dark Mode is available for Docs, Sheets, and Slides, though it announced that last month.

Integration : I think that the ability to pull in a google document, slides, notes, and so on really adds to the value of the tool – it also separates it from many of the other tweet-pooling tools out there. I’ve used it in conferences where you want to be able to pool resources, slides, and conversations into one place.
The change will happen on June 1st, 2021, and it comes with other Google Drive policy changes like counting Google Workspace documents and spreadsheets against the same cap. The smoothest way to collect feedback is via collaborative cloud-based documents such as Google Docs or Slides, Slack, or other collaboration platforms. This way, people can comment on or start a discussion about a certain item directly within the document – both asynchronously or in real-time.
