Next week, I'll be attending The Online Community Unconference (OCU) , along with my TechSoup community colleague, Susan Tenby. The OCU is a gathering of online community practitioners — managers, developers, business people, tool providers, investors — to discuss experiences and strategies in the development and growth of online communities.

Note from Beth: I've been fan of Wiser Earth ever since I had the opportunity to hear Peggy Duvette and Angus Parker discuss their approach almost a year ago. WiserEarth.org , a nonprofit that offers social networking for the international sustainability movement, launched today in French , Portuguese , and Spanish beta versions.

Unconference on Friday, June 25th. Wendy Harman, Social Media Manager at Red Cross, was the first to discuss the listening tools she uses (namely Radian6) -- and process she follows (more on that in a moment) to keep a beat on what people are saying about Red Cross across social networks and the blogosphere.
