I am excited to say that we have created a bit more content, a new discussion group, and are planning a roundtable discussion for December! Global Scale Purpose: Bonnie and I were inspired by conversations with each other on and offline but knew there were many more people who should be involved in discussing, sharing and learning.
At the conference, we hosted two Affinity Group discussions, "Data Exchange Specialists" and "Disaster Response Partners". We discussed data sharing on common technical platforms, and data sharing across dissimilar systems. And if that weren''t enough, we hosted the NTEN Cyber Cafe and a booth at the "Science Fair".
Next Tuesday, I’m running a webinar with NTENdiscussing “More than just a community: Using communities to reach your program goals.&# As always, I hope it’s a fun and informative session, but it’ll also have space for sharing and lots of questions. Or login to your NTEN account.).

It’s been a few days since I returned from the Nonprofit Technology Conference (#12NTC) hosted by NTEN in San Francisco, CA. The 2012 Nonprofit Social Networking Benchmark Report was released at 12NTC yesterday and it’s already stirring up discussions about how nonprofits are leveraging social networks as part of their fundraising and communications strategy. The State of Nonprofit Data report was released this week (hat tip to Ted Fickes ). Idealware and NTEN prepared the report based on a survey in April 2012 with nearly 400 nonprofit organizations about how they manage and use data. The report found that nonprofits are either doing a lot with their metrics or not much at all.

Change is at the heart of what we do at NTEN. It’s with twinges of sadness and excitement that I share with you a personal change: that I will be leaving NTEN after 4 and half years.
