Unfortunately, this isn't Domino's Pizza and disaster response can't work as if it is. The American Red Cross is now looking into how best to give the public an increased role in disaster response. Multiple organizations and systems were having trouble coordinating and sharing information.

Thanks to this regular and constant data exchange, FEMA can benefit from the 60,000 plus shelters managed by the American Red Cross as part of the Red Cross capacity to help Americans during disasters.
