Wikipedia is one place where consultants could shortly play a supporting role for issue organizations. However if you, as a well-meaning representative of an organization, try to inject your side into the debate, your edits might be summarily deleted and you may be accused of violating Wikipedia rules in quite harsh terms.

was coined in 2005 and has a Wikipedia page and several bloggers, conferences, and active debates surrounding it. They don't just keep bookmarks, they Digg things and save them to del.icio.us. I've been doing some reading recently about 2.0 on the library side of the fence. It's fascinating: the term "Library 2.0" Unclear application.

If you're curious about Occam's Razor, here's a more detailed description or see the simplicity page in wikipedia. Stats are better for long term trends or very short events (like measuring a "digg effect" or getting Tech Crunched). The screencast will include a companion wiki with resources to aid further explanation.

On the accuracy front, sites like Wikipedia have developed methods of community authoring and editing that make them more voluminous AND more accurate than traditional encyclopedic sources. And then there's the value of primary voices for interestingness.
