If you're interested in Salesforce stuff and you just landed from your planet, Chatter is like Facebook in your corporate CRM/database. If an org has 5,000 employees, Chatter is a fantastic way for folks from one side of the building to keep up with what's happening on the other side. I wasn't enthused about Chatter from the start.
