A niche social network is an online community drawn together by a shared location, demographic, or interest -- or combination of the three. Kirtsy (demographic-based – think Digg for women, 200,000+ members). You may be ignored at first but after a month of daily half hour engagement you should start to have two-way conversations.

Fortunately, soup kitchens don’t work alone in addressing hunger. Collectively, these organizations begin to address the complex issue of hunger. Seven organizations participated: 501cTECH, Idealware, Network for Good, NTEN, NPower, NPower PA, and TechSoup Global. Here are some of the lessons we learned: 1.
