TechSoup Global has an upcoming Digital Story Telling contest, getting orgs to put together 60 second vid’s about what they do/who they are. Second Life and IRL at TechSoup HQ in SF. You can look at #sfaddis to see what they did recently from Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. It works really well.

Three out of four of these were on Second Life. We created an Island in Second Life to forward this agenda. College students have led the fight on issues. We announced a contest to create a game to address issue in Sudan. We put out a call and got a number of responses from game programmers.

They just finished a YouTube video contest. But other things--the twitter thing, the video contest was my idea. We’d received a video PSA from Pratt students, and I proposed the contest. That’s why we’re not in Second Life. #1, We look at the equation and say maybe Second Life isn’t the right fit for us.
